Like all of my alcohol ink paintings, I never begin with the animal. Every painting starts as an abstract alcohol ink background. Only after the colors and shapes have formed do I search for the hidden subject, then bring it to life using 99% isopropyl alcohol, Q-tips, paint brushes, and alcohol ink markers, creating a realistic animal that emerges naturally from the abstract.
